I am a fan of compilations. They are like the show Lost -strangers who wouldn't have otherwise met, but they happened to board the same Flight. And so now they find themselves sitting in the dark around a fire, nearby waves crashing, each stranger crying and laughing and surviving together.
Songs tend to sound like the people they come from, and when there is a 28-track gathering of them, unified by Bandcamp's chief of cassettes, I get excited before I even hit play. I see the names, some recognizable, others I am eager to know for the first time, and I appreciate this. I listen and I start to type this up.
Thank you, Z Tapes, for another comp. Congrats to all artists whose songs are shining on it.
